The game we play at the office includes most of the same psychological needs as the game we play on the tennis court.
Excerpt from "If I'm the better player, why can't I win?"
TENNIS IS A GAME OF LIFE
A tennis match is a violent psychological struggle. Both antagonists are fighting for their own egos, seeking ways to strengthen their sense of power and enhance their self-images.

Introduction
Welcome to the wonderful world of sport psychology! As a clinical and sport psychologist in Boca Raton, Florida, I work with professional, Olympic, collegiate, top junior and recreational athletes to help them reach their goals. This involves teaching and practicing mental skills, ongoing evaluation, and counseling to eliminate distractions and maximize performance. My work in tennis has been quite rewarding. The two previous division I college tennis teams I consulted with had their best seasons in team history. The credit is completely theirs, but results like this illustrate the importance and value of this cutting edge profession.
